May Spotlight: Burrell Behavioral Health

Burrell also offers addiction recovery services. Our approach is person-centered individualized care that is designed to meet the needs of each client, addressing both substance use disorders and mental health problems as needed. We know the process of recovery looks different for each person. Our philosophy is to develop the right treatment program that supports each person’s unique recovery efforts.

While Burrell believes in access for all people to all services, we also know the necessity of immediate resources when in crisis. Our free Crisis Assist Team provides immediate, 24/7 response to individuals who have a mental health crisis or are having thoughts of suicide. The team helps find resources and provides support and service on an individual basis to manage the crisis. Anyone can reach Burrell’s Crisis Hotline for southwest Missouri at 1-800-494-7355. For those at least 18 years old, Burrell’s Behavioral Crisis Center – Rapid Access Unit in Springfield is a 247/7 walk-in Crisis access point for individuals in need of immediate care. It is located at 800 S. Park Ave.

Burrell understands the need to engage with our community in order to let our neighbors know it is okay to ask for help and where they can find support. We partner with the communities we serve to address behavioral health needs beyond the walls of our buildings. Whether it is through hosting educational events, integration with area health systems or providing service access within area schools, Burrell believes connection is key to getting our friends and neighbors the help they need.

Burrell Behavioral Health believes in serving all people when and where they need help the most. Our entire system is dedicated to providing access to resources and treatment options that are proven to work. We are driven by the needs of our communities, creating a welcoming and safe environment for those we serve.

We are a growing Community Mental Health Center that connects with more than 40,000 clients across 25 counties in Missouri and Arkansas. We believe in caring for the whole person who has specific needs. We have more than 400 clinicians who are innovative in creating individualized plans and our staff collaborates with families, schools, healthcare systems and other networks to provide the appropriate care for each situation.

Burrell provides behavioral support for the entire family, offering quality care for every need and every phase of life. We offer services for children, teens and adults including therapy and counseling, as well as psychiatry and residential treatment programs. We value the trust and respect of our clients and take a multidisciplinary approach where a diverse team of staff work together to collaborate on what is best for the families and individuals we serve.

At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Burrell began the Be Well Community, a daily connection for staff and our communities, through Zoom Facebook Live, that offers advice on intentional self-care and connection. Conversations surrounding difficult topics and honest feelings bring brain science to life to help everyone experience hope and healing.
