At Quarry Town, we’re honoring Galloway’s past while embracing its future. During construction, we preserved and reused existing trees, improved the water quality of Galloway Creek watershed and installed green-energy systems. Our high-quality, sustainable building materials include kitchen countertops from the nearby quarry. We built Quarry Town this way because we love the neighborhood, and we want to see it flourish for decades to come.
There are only 100 apartments at Quarry Town, and they’re going to go fast. If you love modern, open-concept floor plans and easy access to the great outdoors, you’ll love these apartments. Quarry Town takes its inspiration from Galloway’s heyday a century ago, when Sequiota Park and its caves were a major destination that brought in train loads of sightseers every weekend on the Frisco railroad (check out our timeline). Nearby stores and restaurants welcomed the leisure-loving crowds.
Now history is repeating itself. The Lone Pine corridor is brimming with energy and anticipation. High-end apartments along a well-traveled greenway trail. Local shops. Yoga. A two-story brewery. A new restaurant opening in just a few months. There’s an undeniable magnetism. People are falling in love with the Galloway vibe and making their homes among its sloping hills, wooded hollows and twisting trails.
Great Escape Beer Works is Quarry Town’s inaugural tenant. Jake and Jen Duensing opened the brewery in mid-December, and they hope you’ll stop by soon to try their Epic Epoch Kolsch or Wayfinder Session IPA. In fact, 1 percent of all Wayfinder sales go to TrailSpring, a local nonprofit that runs Two Rivers Bike Park near Highlandville and is developing a natural surface trail north of Springfield called Dirt 66.
In March, Great Escape will be joined by The Rock, a new restaurant from Bair’s Sports Grill owners Tim and Jennifer Bair. Galloway’s rich history, much of which hinges on the quarry, will be apparent in the restaurant’s menu, which features drinks and entrées like the Limestone Margarita, Marble Rye, Half-A-Hill Burger, Sequiota Sliders and Chadwick Line Frisco Melt.
