January Spotlight: Paddio

Paddio is an online mortgage lender on a mission to reimagine home buying. The company aims to make home buying less suspenseful and more authentic. Complicated loan products and confusing jargon fill the mortgage industry. Paddio breaks the mold by walking homebuyers through their options in a way that’s clear and easy to understand.

Customers will work one-on-one with a dedicated loan team. This pairing ensures everyone gets personalized service because no two homebuyers are the same. Whether it’s a first-time purchase, refinance, or vacation home at the lake, Paddio can help customers determine what type of home loan makes the most sense.

Technology helps simplify the experience even more. Homebuyers can navigate the entire homebuying journey from their mobile device. Life is always on the move, and flexibility is key. Everything from uploading documents to signing paperwork can be done from anywhere in the world.

New to Springfield in August 2020, Paddio was created by Columbia-based Veterans United Home Loans. Veterans United specializes in the VA loan and helps veterans and military families achieve homeownership. Paddio aims to offer the same exceptional service to homebuyers who are not eligible for the VA loan.

When considering where to open Paddio’s first location, Springfield was an easy choice. There is a lot of excitement about the local talent and workforce Springfield has to offer. Partnerships with local universities such as Missouri State help create a smooth transition for recent graduates looking to kick-start their careers. More than one-third of Paddio’s 50-plus employees are Missouri State graduates. Paddio plans to continue hiring locally to reach 100 employees by the end of 2021.

Paddio employees also give back to their communities through Veterans United Foundation. Veterans United Home Loans employees created their charitable arm in 2011 to expand the impact of giving initiatives.

More than 90 percent of Veterans United employees donate at least 1 percent of their paycheck to the foundation, which has raised more than $50 million since its creation. Employees also take an active role in referring possible needs to the foundation.

Forbes magazine recently named Veterans United the No. 1 employer in Missouri. The Veterans United team is thrilled to welcome a host of new talent under the Paddio brand. For more information about current job opportunities, visit paddio.com/careers.
