Metro Appliances & More has been serving the Springfield area over 25 years. The company began in 1974 as Metro Builders Supply in Tulsa, OK selling appliances only to builders. In 2000, the doors were open to retail customers as well and the name was changed to Metro Appliances & More. There are now eight locations across the Midwest.
Metro recently completed a showroom remodel from the ceiling to floor. The new and improved showroom features more kitchen displays than ever before and showcases over 60 brands of appliances. There is also a room showcasing the very best of appliances with a full working kitchen and seating for 30 people. This room is available to rent for private events and is used to film Dishin’ It Up with Judy Bilyeu, a cooking show featuring local chefs, which airs on Mediacom’s local access channel 22.
Buying appliances from Metro is different than shopping local anywhere else because the salespeople receive ongoing training from the vendors as well as trips to the US factories to actually witness the assembly line production. “It’s important to us that we are able to educate our customers and help them purchase the appliances that match their needs and their budgets”, said Judy Bilyeu, Corporate Marketing Director. “Another unique feature of the company is that we are employee owned which means every person in every department has a vested interested in providing the highest level of customer service.”
Metro offers over 60 brands of appliances which includes the most affordable products on the market to luxury items for those building their dream home.
If you haven’t purchased appliances recently, you will be amazed at the technology now available. For example, you can use your smartphone to turn the oven on or off, turn the dishwasher on, or check the status of the washer or dryer. You can also see whatever you are cooking inside the oven or see inside your refrigerator if you are at the grocery store and want to review what you need to purchase. There are refrigerator/freezers with compartments which allow you to choose whether or not you need it to be a refrigerator or a freezer at any given time.
One of the most requested appliances are ranges or cooktops which offer induction cooking on the top. While these models look like typical glass-top electric models, they operate by a magnetic current with the pot or pan on top of the surface. Instead of passing heat along from surface to cookware to food, induction cooktops heat the cookware directly and so much faster than a typical glass top model.
Metro offers free local delivery, twelve month no interest financing and free haul away of your discarded appliances. They are located at 3252 N. Glenstone and are open Monday – Saturday.
