April Spotlight: Drury University

It’s time to stand out from the pack. A graduate degree shows a willingness to better oneself and expand the mind. A graduate degree shows initiative and drive. In short, a graduate degree gets you noticed. A graduate degree from Drury University? Well, that’s a little something extra indeed.

Drury graduates understand it’s not just about the subject matter knowledge they’ve accumulated, but rather how they use it and who they inspire. The College of Graduate Studies offers master’s degrees in both online and seated formats to accommodate even the busiest executive.

Drury currently offers master’s degrees in the following:

• Master of Business Administration

• Master in Education

Master of Nonprofit and Civic Leadership

Master in Communication

• Master of Integrative Leadership

Master of Public Service and Safety Leadership

Aiming to meet workforce demands, Drury recently launched the graduate level Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Leadership Certificate and in fall 2023 will begin the first  Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies cohort class.

DEI on the forefront

The need for diversity, equity and inclusion officers or, at a minimum, diversity and inclusion training in the workplace has been on a steady incline in recent years. The recruitment of DEI specialists will become a major priority for a broad swathe of employers in the coming year as they seek to modernize their corporate culture and attract new employees.

This four-course certificate was designed in consultation with faculty and community partners with expertise in diversity, inclusion and social justice to ensure the scope of content is well-rounded and will develop leaders who organizations can depend on to understand the systems change process through a cultural conscious lens.

PAs in demand

Physician assistants are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications and often serve as a patient’s principal health care provider. With thousands of hours of medical training, PAs are versatile and collaborative, practice in every state and in every medical setting and help improve health care access and quality. Drury’s program will prepare students to effectively meet the health care needs of an increasingly diverse population.
